The exotic verbena or lemon bedsée is a small tropical tree of the Lauraceae family. Its alternate dark green evergreen leaves end in inflorescences. Its fruits have a shape reminiscent of peppercorns.

Origin and history

Originally from China, Litsea cubeba or better known as exotic verbena is widely used for its fragrance in cosmetics and for its anti-inflammatory, sedative and calming therapeutic properties.

Modes of use

Consult a physician before any therapeutic use or oral treatment.

Oral route:

2 drops of organic exotic verbena essential oil, 2 times a day with a little honey, syrup or on a pastille, for insomnia.

On the skin: 2 drops of organic exotic verbena essential oil + 6 drops of sesame vegetable oil in local massage for tendonitis.

In diffusion:

In atmospheric diffusion, the essential oil of exotic verbena brings a soft atmosphere with a pleasant and freshly lemony scent. By diffusing it for a few minutes in a room, it promotes sleep and relaxes the body.

In energy aromatherapy, the essential oil of exotic verbena is associated with the throat chakra "Vishuddha". Its color is blue.
