Top Oils and Tips that will Help you to Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination is a trap that many of us fall into. While it may be comforting to know that you're not alone, no one can deny that it can hold you back. Having a task looming over us can make us feel anxious, nervous, or agitated. Do you want to stop procrastinating? Here are some tips that will help keep you on the right track. 

Working Out

Finding the energy to workout in the morning can be hard work and this is especially the case if all you want to do is sit in bed and watch your favourite TV show. If you are sick and tired of blowing off the gym then why not spend 20 minutes working out before you give yourself the reward of watching television? If you are still struggling to find the motivation for this then consider mixing some peppermint oil with a carrier oil. When you do this, you can get a motivating boost and you can even use it as a post-workout oil! 

Your Schedule

Your schedule may make it hard for you to plan everything out and it may even stop you from getting organised. Consider writing down what you need to do and tick the things off as you go through them. This will only take around 5 minutes to do and it also helps you create a to do list for the next day. You’ll want to put the most overwhelming tasks first. 

Once you've created your to do list, we suggest diffusing a few drops of orange oil and lemon oil. This oil blend will keep you focused on the task at hand.  

Change your Bedtime Routine

Sometimes it can be hard for you to get to bed when you just want to carry on watching more TV. Study shows that people who watch tv or use their mobile phones to help get them to sleep either has poor sleep quality or gets less time to sleep and rest. Going to bed and getting up at the same time everyday helps your body get into the rhythm of consistently sleeping well. To achieve this, turn off your TV or put down your phone an hour before you turn off the lights. After turning off the TV, engage in relaxing activities like diffusing lavender oil while reading a book. Lavender oil has a calming and relaxing effect while reading a book will help get your brain ready for bed. 

Concentration

Better concentration and focus makes life easier and more productive. But most of us often multi-task and give in to distractions. This leads to procrastinating that then leads to cramming to complete tasks right before the deadline. When people cram, they don’t fully concentrate on the tasks resulting to sloppy work.  

For better concentration, stick to your to do list and don't start a new task when you are still doing another. Lemon oil is great for concentration. Diffuse some while working to keep you going on the task at hand.
